The battle today is Christianity against increasingly overt Evil. The apostle Paul wrote over 2000
years ago that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the
rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms.”
Today, we are engaged in a life struggle against
the agenda of communism and socialism which are both representative of the evil
undercurrent coursing through the world. Add to that the jihad projects of Islam which seeks to introduce an essentially pagan religion and its system of
governance of the world.
World political powers of the United Nations are
working diligently to throttle God’s people of the Judeo-Christian stripe by
establishment of global laws which deny the human rights of Jewish and
Christian believers. Even labeling their efforts evil is being called hate speech and soon may be punishable under
global laws passed and administered by the UN.
The strategy being used suppresses discussion and
objection to these efforts by labeling them with culturally objectionable
terms: bigotry, racism, hate speech, Islamophobia, homophobia, etc.
By controlling the message and information flow
in the media, entertainment, politics, science, and education, the evil powers
are subverting the rights of people to live happy and productive lives in
liberty and freedom. Rather the evil powers would suggest that humankind must
subordinate individual rights to the good of the whole.
Organizational documents like the United States
Constitution are characterized as out of touch and needing revision or
destruction. The United States was founded on principles drawn from the
Judeo-Christian scriptures recorded under God’s direction and honoring the
freedom of individuals to thrive or fail while aiming for the very best and
highest goals.
Communist, socialist, progressive, and Islamic
movements seek to substitute their own system of laws and rules; most of which
are counter to the Constitution. How do they do this? By using words and
concepts that sound fine until examined by the fruit that results: anarchy,
control, restrictions for anyone disagreeing with the concepts. They value
perception rather than truth. In their schema, Perception is Truth—there are no absolutes.
This stands counter to truth revealed in the Bible.
Full Armor of God
The apostle Paul identified in Ephesians 6:10-18 an attitude we are to
adopt—standing firm (on the Rock–Jesus Christ) and seven pieces of armor we are
to don and employ for the battle:
- Waist buckled by the belt of truth to protect our vital organs.
- Righteousness as a breastplate protects our heart.
- Feet fitted with the gospel of peace protect our walk with Christ.
- The shield of faith diverts the enemy’s intended harm from us.
- The helmet of salvation protects our mind and thought life and helps remind us of our position as valued children of God.
- The Word of God as a sword is the first offensive weapon to counter the enemies attacks.
- Voicing prayer in the Spirit, at all times and places, constitutes the second offensive weapon for a communication link to God to call in strikes on the enemy.
Note: Five of these items are defensive in nature
and two are offensive in nature.
