UN Wants to Legalize World’s Oldest Profession
As one means of managing the worldwide HIV/AIDS epidemic, the UN Global Commission on HIV and the Law is proposing the global legalization of what they call “sex workers” (aka prostitutes) with the goal of de-stigmatizing them so they will seek care and treatment and thus stem one of the major sources of the infection.
In a report entitled: “Risks, Rights and Health” the commission made its proposal after scientific studies and analysis of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. They also did regional interviews with people involved in the sex industry to see how they might want to implement recommendations.
