The Magic of Government

Does anyone but me think it strange that a government agency would want to train their leadership in the tenets of “a unique model of translating magic and [principles] of the psychology of magic, magic tools, techniques, and experiences into a method of teaching leadership,” Politico reported that NOAA placed a request for bid on the Federal Business Opportunities website. After the posting became public, NOAA removed it from the FBO website yesterday.
I think that government agencies under the Obama administration have more than done their share of magical thinking and attempted manipulation of the truth. Eric Holder’s false statements about Fast & Furious and Obama (the nation’s Chief Story-teller, according to Michelle Malkin) himself uses magical thinking that if he says something often enough, and gets it into print and other public venues, it must perforce be true.
The conference, ostensibly, a quarterly training exercise put on by NOAA and the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, is part of Commerce’s Leadership Effectiveness and Advancement Program. NOAA was doing what any responsible agency should do—providing for the training of its personnel. However, training in using sleight of hand and psychologically manipulative techniques seems a bit over the top, even for this administration. Seems like another attempt to keep something under the radar in the overall scheme to move the United States of America ever closer to a Marxist, totalitarian state, which is the ultimate goal of the Obama administration and his Progressive (read Communist) allies in Congress.
We must keep in mind God’s words: “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chron. 7:14 NIV). Our land certainly needs a healing! So let’s pray and intercede for our nation.
