This year is not the time to neglect to let your voice be known in the election before us. Despite the antics of both Republican and Democratic candidates, The outcome of this election may usher in a whole new world that none of us are ready for.
In his new book, Is This The End?, Dr. David Jeremiah reminds all Christians that to not vote is to let for forces of evil win and likely initiate the destruction of our country!
I fear the real reason so many Americans and evangelicals do not vote is simple apathy. Yet those non-voters are often the most vocal and critical when elected officials fail to meet their expectations.
The Bible tells us Christians that we are to be salt and light in the world. The time has come for us to let our voices be heard and our votes counted. But make them count responsibly:
• Don't vote your geographical location.
• Don't vote your religious denomination.
• Don't vote your political affiliation.
• Don't vote racial identification.
• Don't even vote your union obligation.
Instead, vote your values. Vote your beliefs. Vote your convictions. If candidates want your vote, let them earn it the old-fashioned way. Let them make commitments to your values, and let them know you intend to hold them responsible. It is my responsibility and yours to participate in the process. If we do not act soon, it may be too late. Let these words of Martin Niemoller, a pastor who lived during the Nazi regime in Germany, cement in your heart and mind the importance of your involvement:
They came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.
I recommend using Dr. Jeremiah’s guidance and vote. Remember 2 Chronicles 7:14. Seek God, and place your trust in Him to guide you as you vote.

Barry Soetoro, also known as Barack “Insane” Obama has partially succeeded in his much vaunted “Change we can believe in,” to “fundamentally transform” the core values of our nation. He has pushed a Marxist ideology that is at the heart of the “Change” and “Transformation.” Mental health professionals recognize the innate mental illness in the policies espoused by Obama.
Diagnostic criteria for 301.81 Narcissistic Personality Disorder
A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
(1) has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
(2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
(3) believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
(4) requires excessive admiration
(5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
(6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
(7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
(8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
(9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV)
While the DSM is a fraud, based largely upon opinion and without valid scientific basis, perpetrated by the American Psychiatric Association on a gullible public, it does provide a good narrative description of the behaviors of our top elected official.
Scripture warned the Jews as they returned to the land promised to Abraham from Egypt not to listen to prophets or others who foretells concepts and set up events to fulfill those concepts, often circumventing or outright repudiating the ideology held by our founding fathers. Deuteronomy (Deut. 13:1-4) exhorts the followers of the Lord Almighty to not listen to the false prophets and others who would lead them away from God’s plan.
1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, "Let us follow other gods" (gods you have not known) "and let us worship them," 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. NIV
Today, Christians and Jews are truly being tested in our loyalty and obedience to the Lord. More and more churches and synagogues are giving way to unbiblical concepts in the name of tolerance and adherence to illegal laws and government policies.
We must pay attention to the assessment of the apostles, “"We must obey God rather than human beings! (Acts 5:29 NIV). Failure to do so will result in additional faith tests from God. We must return to a sound basis for living in today’s culture, not the loopy, unscriptural basis we are being pushed toward.
David Kupellian clarifies the situation we face in his book, The Snapping of the American Mind: Heling a Nation Broken by Lawless Government and Godless Culture. Kupelian’s book should be a must-read for every moral, patriotic American!

Do the math! Did you ever notice . . .
When an X and a Y mate, you get:
- Another X or another Y, but no Z
- Several Xs or several Ys, but no Zs
- One or more Xs or one or more Ys, but no Zs
When two Xs or two Ys try to mate, you get:
- Nothing. No Xs, Ys, or Zs.
Any Zs are created only by man, not God, by modifying God’s perfect creation. So there must be something to the importance of X and Y.
Judeo-Christian scripture, upon which all truth is based, says:
- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Gen. 1:27 NIV)
- He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man." (Gen. 5:2 NIV)
- You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. (Gen. 6:19 NIV)
- Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you-- the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground-- so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number upon it." (Gen. 8:17 NIV)
- As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it." (Gen. 9:7 NIV)

Excerpt [with comments by Dr. Fred Thompson] from the February issue of Dr. David Jeremiah’s Turning Points
In 2010, I knew I couldn't remain quiet. In the wake of the economic upheaval in 200 7-2 00 8, I had already written three books on world-level concerns, looking through a biblical lens. I thought I had said what I needed to. But as I looked around at how rapidly things were changing, I couldn't look the other way. I had to speak out—and this time, sound an alarm.
About what? you ask. About the moral and spiritual state of our world, our nation, our communities, and yes, some churches. I was seeing things in those days that I never thought I would see—a moral and spiritual drift further and further away from biblical standards. I felt we were at a crossroads.
The fruit of that burden was published in 2011—a book titled I Never Thought I'd See the Day!—Culture at the Crossroads. I wrote about topics like militant atheism, Christians missing-in-action in spiritual warfare, the profaning of Jesus in the media, marriage becoming an option, the freefall of morality, the marginalization of the Bible, the increasing irrelevance of the Church, the rise of militant Islam, and America's failure to stand by Israel and why that failure threatens America's future.
By the time the book was published, about five months after turning in the manuscript, I felt there was already more to add! Things are happening so fast in our culture and our world that I could publish a new chapter each month. Think what we have seen just in the last five years—Russia reasserting itself as a global superpower with implications for the prophetic future; the media-fueled barbarity of the so-called "Islamic State" (ISIS); the United States Supreme Court changing the definition of marriage and the trickle-down effects on the definition of family; the White House being decorated with rainbow lights to ally itself with the radical LGBT movement; the demonic rise of mass murders in schools and public venues; the increasing fragility of the world's economic order; the increasing threats to people by droughts, floods, and other climactic weather events; the rising status of true, biblical Christians as the most persecuted and least tolerated minority in the world; the federal government funding an organization that dissects unborn babies and sells their body parts, and more [including infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into influential positions in the administration].
Something is going on, dear friends. And we Christians, more than any other people, need to be aware and equipped. We need to be sensitive to the changes God is allowing in our world, and we need to know how to live in the midst of them. We need to know how to be in the world without being of the world—regardless of what costs may come.
In this [February 2016] issue of Turning Points we are going to reprise the theme of the last chapter of I Never Thought I'd See the Day! That chapter is titled, "When Changing Your Mind Could Save Your Life In other words, it is easy to be overwhelmed by what seems to be the deterioration, if not the destruction, of what we have held dear for many generations in America. We are a nation founded on Judeo-Christian values that are being routinely attacked and set aside. We no longer live in a Christ-friendly culture.
More than anything, we need to know how to live actively, not passively, for Christ. We have not been commissioned to live a defensive life but a life on the move. The Great Commission of Christ commands us to go into our neighborhoods and our culture with the Gospel. We are to be heaven's ambassadors, extending the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control of Christ to those who do not know Him. We are called to be salt and light—to push back the darkness and preserve the flavor of God on this earth.
These are not days of fear and frustration, but of faith! If ever the Church of Christ has needed to take up the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, it is now. God is in control. Christ is Lord over all. The Spirit offers us His gifts, counsel, and fruit. Our task is to embrace our calling, follow the lead of our Lord, and bring light and liberty through the Gospel. Please join me to those ends in this month's issue of Turning Points

Through the excess of political rhetoric in this Presidential campaign cycle, much has been said about illegal immigration and Syrian refugees’ with terrorists embedded amongst them. Some would have us believe that there is no problem and that we should accept all those desiring asylum. The heart of the problem is that, given the chaotic nature of the political situation in Syria, it is impossible to properly vet those applying for refugee status. There are no public records capable of being accessed to verify the required persecution for each individual applying.
The prophet Jeremiah described a similar event happening just prior to the overtaking of the nation of Judah and hauling away of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin to their seventy-year incarceration in Babylon. In that case, Jeremiah was warning of foreign armies besieging Judah and Jerusalem. Jeremiah wrote, “Death has climbed in through our windows and has entered our fortresses; it has cut off the children from the streets and the young men from the public squares” (Jer. 9:21 NIV).
With the plethora of under-reported assaults by so-called refugees, there is ample reason to believe that not all are who they claim to be. It is strange that a significant number of “refugees” are single, war-fighter age males instead of the families with wives and children one would normally expect among so many desiring asylum in the Untired States. In addition, many seem to “disappear” into local enclaves shortly after arrival. Truly, it can be said, “death has climbed in through our windows.”
Emma Lazarus’ quote embossed on the Statue of Liberty memorializes the American ethos:
Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
Despite the intention to rescue oppressed people in accordance with our long-stated ethos as a nation of immigrants, we cannot, nor should we, be ignorant about it. There is a well-established process for application and granting of asylum. We must not weaken the process through ineffective and incomplete vetting of applicants through an overabundance of weak-kneed, saccharin tolerance.
This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good (Jer. 10:2-5 NIV).
Just as Jeremiah warned the people of Judah and Benjamin, we will only weaken our nation if we adopt the ways of the nations. Too large a number of immigrants come with absolutely no intention of assimilation into the American ethos. This denies us the opportunity to enrich our culture and employ a common language. There are some who would change us to become like them in language, law, and religion. If they want to maintain their language, law, and religion, they should return to their country of origin.

Today, many, if not most, Americans are so bedazzled by the leadership and numerous challenges we face in the economy, the environment, government inanity, and such that we have become bystanders instead of participants. Each new Alinski crisis is used to the fullest to divert our attention from what is really going on.
We have become inured to the things about which we could actually make a difference in if we only stood up and spoke out.
The Roman satirical poet, Juvenal coined the Latin phrase, panem et circenses (bread and circuses), to identify the only remaining cares of a Roman populace which no longer cared for its historical birthright of political involvement. Juvenal, used the phrase to decry the selfishness of common people and their neglect of wider concerns.
Today, we are being entertained with “bread and circuses” to divert our attention from the world situation. Bread in the form of government handouts and entitlements requiring little or no work on our part. Circuses in the form of mindless, so-called, entertainment in video games, TV sitcoms, game shows, and sports events.
As a society, we are spectators and not participants. We have become “Life Lurkers.”
A “lurker” is one who stands alongside the pathway of life and just watches the traffic go by. In the cyber world, a lurker logs on, but does not participate in the many conversations and debates and definitely does not want to stand out as having a reasoned response to the rhetoric that passes for critical thinking today. If truth be known, cognitive activity is considered obsolete by many who have allowed themselves to be lulled into passivity.
A “life lurker” is one who is content to accept the handouts of big government (as long as they don’t require the lurker to actually earn those handouts).
A lurker is most often heard to say things like, “Whatever . . .,” “I don’t care,” “What difference does it make anyway,” “I don’t know . . .”, or such things.
Obama has created an office to actually form the opinions that he wants the sheeple of this country to espouse. A recent article in Politico highlighted the administration’s plan to “nudge” Americans to do what he wants:
The president officially adopted the idea last year when he launched the White House’s Social and Behavioral Science Team (SBST), a cross-agency effort to bring behavioral science research into the policymaking process. . . .
The team’s projects were definitely a form of prodding—giving people little pokes to improve their behavior in some way. But the more muscular form of “nudge” involves what experts call changing the “choice architecture”—automatically enrolling employees in an optional 401(k), for instance, or making organ donors opt out.
Just as a shepherd or cattle drover prods the herd to move in the direction desired, so the Obama administration is prodding the “sheeple” of this once-great nation to do his bidding. Sometimes all it takes if a gentle prod. Other times something more dramatic is required. On example might be; If we can’t take guns from the obviously “rabid” gun owners, then will have to confiscate them by other means. Like requiring registration of ammunition or guns before we drum up some bogus reason citing “community safety.”
Public schools and colleges have educated activism out of our children and young adults. Common Core is an uncommon bore and a travesty!
We are not sheep! Stand up! Speak out! Get involved!

The common cliché that, “You can’t legislate morality,” has a strong basis in truth; so much so that it even begs the question about the possibility. I sometimes ask people, (using the acronym, AYSOW) “Are you stupid or what?” Ok, that’s not polite, but it is a valid question.
We continue to attempt to pass laws that will supposedly instill morality relative to violence, racism, bigotry, and such into the world view of Americans. Ignorant people sing the praises of gun control, gay “marriage” (which is an oxymoron in itself), tolerance for anything, etc. Laws have never been totally successful in shaping the boundaries of appropriate behavior for people. Laws never have and never will as long as mankind remains out of fellowship with God.
The apostle Paul wrote in the first century to warn his disciple, Timothy, that:
. . . There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV)
The Holy Spirit must have whispered that prediction in Paul’s ear. We are seeing these very things being fully realized today. Someone just posted on Facebook that racism was almost eradicated in America until Obama came along. Christians are being accused of bigotry for taking stands on moral issues like baking cakes for homosexuals. Strange that Muslim bakeries are being given a pass while Christians are subjected to lawsuits, harassment, and worse.
Morality comes from training from caring family units involved in regular attendance and participation in spiritual programs. In previous decades, society itself participated in the shaping of youth attitudes and moral values. Since the outbreak of rampant immorality in the 1960s and 70s, moral values have declined to the point of almost being non-existent.
The answer lies in a yet-to-happen spiritual revival akin to the revivals of the early and mid- 20th century. People’s lives were impacted positively by simply receiving Jesus Christ as their savior and making Him Lord of their lives.
The process is simple;
- Repent of sins
- Commit one’s life to Christ
- Walk in the fullness of a new life in Christ
- Share your decision with others.
There is a special blessing for those who enter into this relationship with Jesus. The apostle John wrote this:
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (John 1:12-13 NIV)
On the down side, failure to accept the free offer of salvation can have life shattering results. In my end-times novel, Eye of the Storm, several of the characters had relied on just trying to live lives substantially moral, but failed to find a personal relationship with Jesus and were left behind when the Rapture occurred. For these individuals, church had become a social club, not a place for the church to gather to worship their Lord. Church was a place, not an assembly of believers. On any given Sunday, over 40% of the typical congregation was unsaved. The less faithful appeared mostly on the C & E religious holidays; Christmas and Easter.
For such people, morality became whatever they felt it was, and often it would be warped to whatever purpose they felt was necessary to achieve their best advantage. Morality, in their view, became relative and unlike the absolute morality demanded of believers by the Bible.
For some, often times many, morality would be demanded of the general populous via legislation. Despite their assertion that true morality could not be legislated, they still attempted to legislate it into existence.
Today, gun grabbers and gun control advocates attempt to legislate morality by denying law-abiding citizens their Second Amendment rights to own and bear arms. This demonstrates the ignorance of the ones in power and reveals their agenda to disarm law-abiding citizens and retain control through tyrannical actions. It is clearly the morally weak striving to control and defeat the morally strong.
Truly, “all we, like sheep, have gone astray” when we fail to stand up to such tyranny. We are like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew’s gospel records:
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." (Matt. 9:35-38 NIV)
The apostle Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus to make them aware that they have a responsibility to stand up to tyranny:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"-- which is the first commandment with a promise-- "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 1and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Eph. 6:1-18 NIV)
Paul wrote clearly that, no matter what your station in life, God will guard you against the forces of evil in the world, but you also have a responsibility to take part in resisting the evil.
In his letter to the church in Thessalonica, Paul also laid down the behaviors that are pleasing to the Lord:
Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. (1 Thess. 4:1-12 NIV)
As I portrayed a possible scenario in Eye of the Storm for a pre-tribulation Rapture event, the reason that some, who thought they were Christians, got left behind at the Rapture.
True moral living issues forth from a life transformed by a genuine, heart-felt conversion experience and an active spiritual life conforming to the standards articulated by Paul in his letter to the believers in Rome:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2 NIV)
